The schools in the Ruidoso Municipal School District are fully accredited by the North Central Association and the New Mexico State Department of Education. Ruidoso Municipal School District employees advocate the District's slogan "...where excellence is expected."
The District provides modern facilities, a qualified staff, a broad base of programs, and extracurricular activities to enhance the educational growth of students. Staff members understand the importance of continual learning and training, and the administration encourages participation in workshops, course work, and other professional educational activities.
Governed by the Ruidoso Board of Education, the Ruidoso Instruction Center of Eastern New Mexico University provides opportunities for concurrent enrollment of high school students, professional development programs for Ruidoso school staff, and other activities to benefit Ruidoso schools and students.
The District, Spencer Theatre for the Performing Arts, and Hubbard Museum of the American West are members of the Partners In Education Program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. This relationship enables area teachers to participate in specialized training sessions to facilitate the incorporation of arts into the general curriculum.
Ruidoso has dedicated more than $1.3 million of local funds in recent years to provide schools with the latest teaching technology. Classrooms are equipped with Internet, cable TV, closed circuit TV, and satellite access. Ruidoso has achieved the highest technology rating possible based on the STaR assessment process.
